HISTORY

The East End Kids, founded in 1990 by Larry Cervi, owner and founder of the Larry Cervi School of Performing Arts, are celebrating their 20th Anniversary this year.

Mr. Cervi, the East End Kids Artistic Director, taught speech and drama at Churchill High School for 22 years, is a board member of The Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) at Point Park University, and has directed more than 70 musicals for local high schools and community theatre. The Gene Kelly Awards have honored his work with three nominations for “Best Musical.”

Many of Larry Cervi's East End Kids have received lead roles in their high school musicals, and many have gone on to study musical theater at prestigious universities including Carnegie Mellon, New York, and Point Park.

Mr. Cervi's legacy to the entertainment world lives in the countless students he has inspired to pursue careers in theater, film, dance, and television broadcasting. Many East End Kids alumni have also pursued careers on Broadway.

Professional vocal and dance instruction is complemented with confidence building, team work, and performance skills. The result—the East End Kids have forged a reputation as Pittsburgh's premier teen song and dance ensemble, creating highly entertaining professional productions.
